Buying an 05 GT

Hi everyone
A regular PH er, and going from a Z4 E89 to an 05 Bentley GT, in Tempest with Beluga Interior and black piano wood. Not Mulliner spec, but has full chrome front grills, Mulliner gear shift and only 36,000 miles with Bentley warranty until April 2013.
Jus a few questions, is it normal to have warranty from Bentley after 7 years, and will they give me the option to extend? If so, how much does it cost? Also fixed price servicing at dealers is now only £700 ish.....is it worth it? I am happy to pay it, just want to be sure I am getting value for money.
If the car has warranty, is it worth getting a pre purchase inspection? The ca is being sold by an independant dealer in London....now here is the good part, only £36,750....

I'd take it to a good independent who specialise in Bentleys or better still buy one from a said dealer. Bentley warrenty for that age will only cover the big bits that shouldn't go wrong very often. They are great cars but it's worth finding a good one, it's easy to spend out on them, the parts still reflect a six figure car.

Good point. The dealer hasn't transferred the log book yet, so it can be seen I am buying from the previous owner.
Any thoughts on what an inspection would cost? Would they need the car or can it be done in situ at the dealer?

i have just paid 30k for 1 owner done 23k but was trade from a bentley dealer happens to be a close friend of mine hence getting it for 30, he says they are bullet proof had mine a week now just had it major service from a indi and was 940 for full genuine parts, only thing he did for me was the tyre pressure monitors which the batttries had failed and where 140ish per battery! which he did for a favour so i would check if they are about to go or have been replaced

That's a good friend to have, enjoy the car and getting to know the local v-power supplier I helped a friend by an 04/54 GT (36k miles) from a main dealer last year for £36k. We were told that the wty couldn't be renewed at the end of the first year due to the cars age although if it had been renewable, it could cost in the order of £1500. As an example, the Brietling clock is reputedly about £3k if it breaks!
Having said that, the car has now done 8k miles more & all it has suffered is an intermittent fault when it isnt driven due to low battery charge - fixed by driving it more or using a battery conditioner hooked up to the mains when in the garage for any period of time.
My friend is now struggling with whether to keep its full BDSH or to take it to a very reputable indy for its service?
FWIW, it is a car that challenges the laws of physics from a performance point of view, can be driven in all weather conditions & has serious road presence. Good luck with your purchase & make sure the main dealer wty is still valid

certainly am rev happy although my wife took it to abersoch from cheshire at the weekend and back , i then took it to fill up it said range was 50 miles and had done 300 and cost £97 to fill up which does not seem bad but worked out is 18.4mpg ops oh well we don't do many miles in that car and just taken delivery of a 320ed which is amazing
