2003 'ish Bentley Arnage T Buying Advice
Discussion
I'm not sure about an '03 but I have heard of several instances reported (at least here in the US) of head gasket problems on the Arnage. Best have him get a full PPI with close scrutiny in that area by a Bentley main agent. Beyond that, I think they're quite the machine. I have not driven a T, but just a standard Red Label, and it was very nice, albeit a bit BMW-ish in feel and touch..
Cheers,
Aaron
The Arnage T/R shouldn't give the same problems with head gaskets as the earlier Red Label. There is a whole host of improvements made to the engines between the two models and the head gasket were one of the items that were sorted. Make sure you get the history checked and have it looked at by someone who knows what they're doing or buy from a reputable specialist, there's plenty of cars being sold by traders who haven't a clue what they are selling or what they are talking about.
the arnarge t has metal headgaskets and different head bolts from standard and as such doesnt seem to blow the gaskets but they still suffer from the same problem as the normal cars with the radiators internally blocking up because coolant changes were not carried out on the services they should have been done and the early arnarge t eats its tappets and requires a modified camshaft and tappets at serious cost
