Bentley continental sc question
Discussion
Hi all
I am asking for a friend who's farther has had a content sc stored for a long time, the car has done 12,000 miles in total and only 3000 in the last 10 years I have known it. The car is stunning and has had every service even though it has hardly turned a wheel. His farther has passed and the car may come up for sale but I haves question.
This car has something I have not seen on any other SC I have seen. It has a small chrome bar that stands about an inch high off the front bumper in the middle the length of the grille. I have not seen it before or on anything or even pics on the web. It's deff a bentley part but what is it and why is it on this SC..... Does it have a meaning ? Poss a special SC

It sounds like a badge bar - for displaying motoring badges. See this link

Does it look anything like that? (on a different car obviously)

The Mulliner department at the factory would have made any accessory a paying customer wanted so many cars have individual one off items.
The glass panels on the SC roof can leak. The problem is caused when closing the front doors, the car is so airtight the weakest link is the glasspanels which can momentarily pop up and fail to reseat correctly causing said water leaks.

To me it sounds very much like a badge bar. You could, and probably still can, spec a badge bar from Mulliner.
Here is one on a Bentley Turbo R. I probably have a photo of one on a Continental R, but can't find any at the moment.
You can also buy the part from Flying Spares http://www.flyingspares.com/shop/bentley-rh3240.ht... and presumably directly from Crewe as well.
