My suspension is *expletive deleted* due to the ever wonderful Scottish roads network and now I am looking to fix it. I drive a PH1 Clio 172 exculsive and I was looking at replacement suspension parts. My question is do I go to a garage and ask for replacement original parts or do I go aftermarket. I looked at K-tec racing and they do a coilover kit for just over 300 quid which seemed like an awesome deal. Is it worth it or do I stick with original parts?

If the Scottish roads have lead to the early end for you suspension then cheap coilovers might be a bit harsh.

Your 'exclusive' like my own Ph1 will probably benefit from an all round refresh of the oem parts, if you want to have something a bit sportier then consider some eibach sportline or proline springs?

Cool thanks for the advice smile Do you know how what sort of cost would be involved in a refresh?

I think KTEC might be one of the cheapest places for the OEM suspension, the also do the eibach springs. Depends in where you live but maybe try and find a nearby specialist to fit them?

I'd probably guess at £60-£70 a corner? That's purely a guess based on the price of the shock.

You may like to hop across to Cliosport.net for advice on specialists smile

As suggested, I can't help thinking that 'cheap' coilovers at £300 are a false economy. Renault tend to know a thing or two about handling smile

K-tec coilovers are OK for road, but they're far too soft for track work. There's been a few cases of them falling apart though.

Either buy new OEM shocks and Eibach springs, which is what I have, or save a bit more and get some decent coilovers.... FK konigsport or Bilstein B14's are the best without spending £1K +
