Folks,

Still on the lookout for a new motor, and quite like the look of the 207 Sport XS THP 150 or GT THP 150, a used one of 2008/2009 vintage.

I've had a Pug before (a 1.1 106 I bought new), and loved it. It broke constantly, but I still loved it.

Anyone got a Sport XS, or a GT that can give me a bit of an owner's review?

Cheers!

Pretty fast and robust, with capable chassis and minimal understeer, just not as much fun to drive as 106(more compliant and better steering feel)

Good cars generally reliable but have a heavy body, test drove a GTi model a while back even with 175hp it didn't feel quick.
So completely the opposite of a 106

I've got the GTI 175 thp.
Lovely car, very quick and handles well.
Reliability of the thp engine is crap and it is currently in having a new cylinder headand valves due to carbon build up on them! Also suffer badly from timing issues and has the cat collapsing around 30k!
Luckily i have a great warantee!

Well, I have a 207 GT 150 THP and I've had an ongoing issue with a lack of power (it was never pin pointed as to what) but don't think it was a problem with the turbo... but in any case... I did some research and it seems to be a common problem amongst this model. I wouldn't recommend buying one, unless you don't mind it being in the garage every so often.

Don't get me wrong, a very fun car, with good handling, punchy engine and lots of toys and nice 'not-too-over-the-top' styling....but it's just that damn engine problem that has made me fall out of love with it!

Sorry if this throws a spanner in the works!
