Ok - question for all you Citroenist out there!

I'm just looking ay buying a Xantia LX estate 2.0 HDi. It's a facelifted (S2) version.

1) Can anyone tell me: Did Hydractive2 become standard across the range on facelift S2? (I Know that on earlier cars it was only the higher spec that got it)

2) Is there a quick way to tell Hydractive2 from above the car or in the driver's seat? (eg any switches or different symbols on the height adjuster lever?) I know you can look under the back axle subframe to see if it has the 3rd sphere.

Thanks folk ! :-)

AFAIK the LX never had HA2 but can't be 100% sure on the S2. If it does, it'll have a button inside for switching between auto and sport settings. On S1 cars it's down by the handbrake, but again can't confirm if S2 is exactly the same.

They have an extra sphere in the middle at the front too, not that it's any easier to spot than the back. Probably harder infact laugh

It's been a while since my original post.
Just bought a 110hp HDi estate in SX trim.

No Hydractive2, just std suspension.
A couple of Exclusive I looked at had it.
I'm not too concerned as I've read that they have a couple of extra electronic sensors which can play up.

Got it cheap on Ebay as the rear spheres needed replacing. Despite the reputation of the suspension systwm, this was one of the easiest suspension jobs I've ever done on any car.

Xantia will be in every day service on my 100 mile round trip commute as soon as the Pug 406 is away.

Electro-valves are a pretty easy fix from what I've been told, though I've not had to do one (yet!)

Hydractive cars do ride alot better, but then non-HA is a simpler system.

They're good hacks, Xantias. Nothing exciting, but they're a good all-round bus. Very underrated.
