R27 Brake Upgrade

Hi,

I have an R27 with 25,000 miles on. The dealer told me last week that both sets of discs were near the minimum and needed changing. This got me thinking, firstly can it really be that the discs are gone so early. The car is on the original pads and has never been tracked. Secondly, if I'm going to change them, should I upgrade? Iv'e seen KTec's website with upgraded Brembo options. Does anyone have any experience of the upgrades and how are other peoples experiences of disc life?

I have standard pads with AP grooved two piece discs and they seem pretty fade resistant. Expensive for the discs but they prevent the standard pads from overheating so you save money there.
