My clio cup 172 is going to need tyres very soon. It has Pirelli P-zero nero all round which are farily good but i'm sure i can do better. I've been a huge fan of the Eagle f1's for many years and that would be my obvious choice. However I believe Michelin made a specific tyre for the 182 which must be the one to go for. I also know that they have since stopped making that tyre.

So. What did michelin replace the tyre with. Is it as good. and is that the best tyre for my car.

Thanks

Original equipment for the 172 Cup was the Continental Sport Contact irc.

Then the Michelin Exalto 2 for the later 182's.

Hankook V12 Evo's have good reviews on ClioSport, as do the Hankkok RS2 if you want something a little more track focussed.

Hi, i have a clio cup and have just changed from sport contacts to toyo t1r's. A vast improvment i think. I also just took part in a track day at brands hatch (in the wet too) and i cant fault the tyres. A nd they are only £45 on the camskill website. Hope this helps.

I now use Goodyear GSD3's. Just as much grip as the Exaltos, less noise and slightly better ride comfort. Wouldn't go back to Exaltos.
