Hey

After looking at SOTW I was wondering if I could fit one to my 1.1 C2, I've had a look and I can get one for about £150-£180.

What I'd like to know is what would I have to do to my car to fit it and how much will it cost, I'm going to look at insurance quotes later this afternoon but just wanted your guys opinions first.

Don't bother. A TU1 is a shopping engine. Nothing in it is designed to produce a good dollop of power. It's built for economy, not speed! (Samuel L Jackson in Die Hard With Avengence).

If you love that car, save up and wait until you can install a VTS lump (how big's the engine bay....would a Xsara VTS lump fit? I know someone's popped a V6 in one!) and if you don't love it all that much, sell it when you can insure better cars and buy a better car.

I can't give you anything else constructive mate, sorry!

Yeah the Peugeot 406 V6 fits in the C2, I got 10hp just from an induction kit and an okish cat back, but I was told by the guy who designed the GSR induction kit you could get a really good amount of power from my engine.

Define really good. And if you do, you can get really good power from most engines. You could get 150bhp from your 1.1, but I bet it'd cost 5 times as much as bolting a 1.6 16v into it!

Are you sure?

A 15% power gain from an induction kit and half an exhaust is an awful lot

Yeah he designed it so he's gonna say that, that way you spend money on it.

That's what it said on Surrey rolling road, so I assume it is correct?

Did you do a run before you fitted the parts to verify standard power and the accuracy of the dyno?

Yes, I did a few runs with the same exhaust and just a panel filter fitted and I got 64hp.
