03 Clio 1.2 8v wont start! No spark. Help!!

Tried to start my girlfriends car this morning which is in regular use and it wont start. ive took a spark plug out and no spark. swapped the plug to a different lead and still no spark. i put a volt meter on each of the wires to the coil pack and i have no volts during cranking. checked the crankshaft sensor according to the internet (200-500ohms restistance and i have 230, volts during cranking 0.2-2.0volts and i have 0.7) Did i check this correctly? is there something else? i can smell lots of fuel coming through the hole where the spark plug was so i think i have fuel just no spark. Any ideas?
