Hi folks,
I have a strange question.....

My ex wife has an 02 pug 307 hdi which has started displaying "diesel filter blocked"

I have offered to change it for her, but rootling around I can't find one obvious. My leanings are that it's actually inside the pump which looks to be under the battery on the nearside of the engine comp.

Has anyone performed this job? if so what's it like.

Thanks folks.

There are a number of types. Most are normal paper element types which are inside a plastic housing on top of the engine, very obvious with fuel pipes going to it.If not these it will be a big unit on the N/S rear of the cylinder head.It will have fuel pipes, two sensors and is held in with torix screws. It does not look like a normal fuel filter. You have to change the whole assembly and it costs about £38 !!!
There is not any fuel filters fitted under a 307 battery.

The part the computer is saying is blocked will be the particulate filter which is part of the exhaust system, not a cheap simple job I am afraid, will need an additive check too up and counters reset.

If it is that take it for a fast run on a motorway. Lot of sub 50mph plodding around gets a soot build up Which a blast usually clears out.
