Hello good people of PH!
Considering a 172/182 for my next car. Just looking for general tips if anyone could help?
Budget is about £3500 for the car alone. What am i best looking at? Top ph1 172 ( Least favourite choice at the moment) a mid range ph2 172, bottom end of the 182's just?
What to i need to look out for? I know the belts need to be done at 50k/10 years but anything else in paticular?

£3.5k should get you a mint 2002+ low mileage low owner cambelt done 172/cup. Not really 182 money given the tired examples i viewed.
£3k should also get you a mint alloy bonnet phase 1 also! Might be worth something in a few years?? I couldnt stomach the interior though..

- edit - check heater goes from hot to cold and doesnt just stay hot (using full blower speed) - a PITA to fix. Also do a fast change at high revs from 2nd to 3rd - 3rd gear sync can crunch on tired examples.**
