Hi everybody, my Brother-in-law has a Pug 407SW on a 55 plate.Electric everything, leather etc so am guessing its top of the range.Anyhow, recently he's had a few problems, noticably starting in a morning.I know its cold, but he starts car up to warm it through for a few minutes and to defrost.then switches off engine and goes inside for a cuppa. When he comes back to car, it won't start, and blows one of the 20amp fuses ( engine management)Battery appears to be dead then. He bought a new battery from local Peugeot dealer had it fitted on Monday, then today, had exactly same problem over again.

He replaces the fuse, but then the battery appears to be drained, because I can go and jump start his car with leads.

Anybody any idea what the potential problme may be?

Many thanks for your help.........in anticipation.
Delboy.

Try putting another earth lead from the battery to the gearbox(maybe a jump lead)it is common for gearbox earths to corrode. My c25 van would start from cold but as soon as it warmed up it wouldn't even turn over,i changed the starter motor before i discovered the bad earth.
