I have a 205 running a mi16 lump that has been tilted and has a 4 branch manifold, 4 to 2 that runs down to under the gear stick area and then goes to 1 all the way back to the rear of the car. i have a continuing problem with the whole exhaust from the gear stick area back keeps coming off, i have tried new clamps, new mounts etc but nothing seems to work, the last time this came off it cracked one side of the 4 branch manifold and it came loose and i lost it somewhere on the road, so i have to do some major welding and fabricating to the exhaust.

Whilst i am doing this work i am looking to fit a remote exhaust cutout valve in my exhaust so was wondering if anyone had ever fitted one to a 205 if so where.

Also where can you run an exhaust through other than standard, ie side exit, drivers side, up front, any ideas and possible alternative routes would be very handy!!

Ok.

Do you mean it literally falls off? Wow!

First I would untilt the engine.
Secondly I'd fit a solid (rubber) lower mount, that will stop the engine moving around.
Is the collector 'sprung' on your exhaust or is it rock solid?

Here's mine

If it werent for the exhaust rubber mounts then yes it would fall off totally!!

It was tilted when i brought it, how do i go about untilting it??

Ive got BakerBM mounts all round so that shouldnt be a problem.

Dont know what you mena by collector, but mine splits further forward than your picture my splits at the end of the 4 branch manifold, where it is still 2 pipes, about 9 inches further forward of your picture.

Well almost falls off hangs on the rubber mounts!!

I Am thinking of untilting the engine but I will need to fabricate a new down pipe to the manifold as I don't really want to spend £400 on a new one!!

I already have bakerbm mounts all round.

Also my exhaust come apart further forward of where you have pictured! Mine comes undone on the 2 pipe section!

Any ideas of where else I can run the exhaust??
