Peugeot 307 HDI 110 even slower than normal..
Discussion
Hi,
Recently my girlfriends 307 has become even slower than usual. Pulling away involves flooring it to make it move where nothing really happens under 2k until the turbo kicks in, even then it struggles to rev. Its like trying to drive a a car with a hot cam in where it needs to be revved.
Anyone experienced anything similar or know a cure?
Thanks

Could be a boost leak or a squashed boost pipe. Is it making any unusual hissing noises and does the turbo sound normal?
No unusual noises just really flat until about 2200rpm then it takes off, it makes driving smoothly really difficult!I would have thought a boost leak would be more apparent further up the rev range?
I'll have a poke around tommorow!
Update:
Well had a good look around with the engine on and off, all the vac pipes appear ok, no damage, squashing or splits in them.
Took it around to the local garage and ran diagnostics on it and it didnt throw up any DTC's, was advised it must be mechanical and to check the turbo as its quite a common fault on these and also check the egr valve.
Back up on the ramp at home managed to have a peek at the turbo, spins freely, little end float, and no visable damage to the blades also it pulls well once on boost.
After this I decided it must be the egr as some of you mentioned before. I recently de-gunked my mk4 golf tdi egr, couldnt believe how fouled up it was!
I couldn't get to it from above or underneath as its on the back of the block at the top and the engine is mounted quite far back under the windscreen.
Have any of you managed to remove one from a hdi 90 or know of a guide somewhere?
(edit- also tried airflow from a known working car, made no difference)

Well today i fixed a similar problem on my 406 hdi 110hp. It was simply weak, Felt like it had 80hp. The problem was in split vacuum tube leading from wastegate electro valve to wastegate actuator. It was a really small split right near the em valve.
What actually happened was simple. The tube was split and it was leaking vacuum. What vacuum does is that it closes wastegate. Therefore the wastegate is opened all the time and almost none of the exhaust gases go through turbo, not spining it which resluts in low bosst. It basically took me months to find whats wrong.
If u have low boost, it might also be the em valve it self. What i did, i took the tube down and drew air from it, if u can make a vacuum in it, it good. I could do it in mine. Hope it helps.
