Citroen Berlingo - code to unlock radio?
Discussion
My brother removed the battery from my van to use in his car for a while and since replacing it there has been a message saying 'code' every time I try and turn the radio on! Is this a part of the serial number found in the manual or something I need to obtain from Citroen? If anyone could help it would be much appreciated - I've gotta long drive to Cornwall on Friday and no music will make it a hell of a lot longer!
Thanks

When removing the battery from a car you need to use a codesaver to protect the ecu and your stereo code.
As you havent done this, youve just removed the battery, then you will have lost the code for your car.
On most occassions this can be found in the owners handbook, but if not you will have to ring Citroen and ask for the code. But beware they will charge and its normally about £40 !!

I'd agree with ^^^^. If you've lost the keycode card for the stereo, it'll cost you to get another ...
Stupid posts aside in the plinky below, but the chaps on the Berlingo forum may be able to assist

I presume it will be the same system as found on many Peugeots and Citroens.
What the manufacturer name on the Headunit?
I had a similar problem on my old 306 (so quite possibly same/similar setup).
Peugeot would indeed 'sell' me the code but they want 30 or 40 pounds or so.
I found though that on a number of peugeot/citroen forums and websites there are 'decoders' and people have cracked the formula to work out the code from the serial number printed on the back of the headunit itself.
So - I'd do some digging and look into it as you may well find a free solution - start by looking at the many varied peugeotsport/106/206/306net/gti6.com/saxo/saxosportsclub/xsara/xantia/berlingo etc etc forums and owners clubs where theres sure to be tonnes of info if you can find it.

For lost radio codes, ask here: http://www.unlockforum.com/forumdisplay.php/68-Fre...
I lost the code on the wifes Punto, someone on there gave me the correct code within 4 hours of asking the question. All you need is the unit description and serial number.
