Peugeot 206 Gti.

First registered in 2001 and it currently has 30,000 miles. My Haynes manual recommends a timing belt renewal at 40,000 miles. However as it is now nine years old I'm wondering should it have been changed before now. Anyone know what the correct time interval is on these cars before changing the belt?

I would say so. Manufacturers that recommend 80k intervals usually state or 8 years, whichever first.

I think you'll find it is more like 5 yrs not 8
