Hey guys

I am now the new owner of a 1 owner, 05, 182 sport, silver, all extras, no modifications, full service history, digi climate control, esp/tc, cruise, auto lights/wipers, cam belt kit done last week or so etc. Full fat model.

What an awesome car.

My gf had/has a clio 182 cup from new and while my M3 was off the road in the garage which where it spent most of my ownership there i drove her 182 around and i thought it was a great car then.

Apart from my previous M3, i come from a jap car background and my last car was a MR2 turbo running at 297bhp, i made this decision to get a 182 based on i wanted something more refined, something newer, something modern, something more practical, something better for london and also the fact that i was impressed so much before when i drove one.

The car is fine, absolutely mint. Ticks all the boxes, more refined, modern, practical, better mpg etc.

However! A few things have come to my attention. No major things has i have looked around on the net and they dont seem to be major problems but first:

1. The headlamp washers dont seems to work, but i heard the pump sometimes goes and its not a major or expensive thing. Is this true?

2. The cruise control/speed limiter switch doesnt seem to stick, its fine while i got my hand on it but as soon as i take my finger off the green/orange light comes off. I read this is a simple switch replacement. Is true?

3. Im from East London and it would be good to know where there is a good indy renault specialist around?

Thanks guys.

Forgot to mention it hasnt got any of the cup packs which is fine for me. smile

1. The washers only work when the lights are on, if they still dont work they may have been blocked because they leak. They dont really work anyway and are only there because they have to be.

2. Does sound like the switch if the green/orange light comes on.

3. Theres not many places I would trust, the only place I know that is remotly close is JMS tuning in uxbridge.

Thanks ian

Do you have one?

I heard the headlight washers that dont work is an MOT failure?

Are they even any good? I did check them when the headlights were on (auto) not manually and they still didnt work.

I thought it would be the switch, ordered another one from a dealer. Looks easy to fit.

So no good renault guys around east end of london/essex?

Thanks

A vote from me for JMS tuning aswell. Very active in the 182 world and only ever hear good things about them.

If you havn't already discovered it, cliosport.net is a decent forum for information although the occasional "chav/boy racer" does seem to make it on.

Mines been in a accident so looking for some bits to fix it up with. Shouldn't take me too long though.

Looking forward to driving it, wished i'd bought one before I bought my S4 to be honest.

The S4 is going now though. Never thought I'd down grade (well speed wise anyway) but the S4 just costs too much.

Awesome cars mate, you'll love it, plus to most, it just looks like a ordinary clio so it surprises alot of people.
Ive had mine for a year and a half now and it still puts a smile on my face, a sign of a great car smile

Yeah i know they are a lot of fun, i really enjoyed driving my gf's clio cup around London, much more fun then the M3 i had.

Although my MR2 was nearing 300bhp, unichip, remap, etc etc and to 60 in 4.8secs or so the clio feels much more solid and useable around town and on B roads etc.

Just a much better car, i'll be hanging onto it for a while before i go into merc land lol.
