Could anyone please offer help.

We have a 2 Door Renault Megane. The Screen washer does not work.

You can hear the screen washer motor spinning for both front and rear, but no water coming through either. Checked the hose lines for blocks and all seem OK.

Could be the pump itself ?

Where is the motor/pump mounted ? It sounds like the front R/H inner wing behind the plastic dirt guard.

Before I start pulling things apart, Is it accessible ?

Many thanks,
Ian.

Hi, it's possible that the motor is still operative, but the actual end that spins has become detatched.

Remove the O/S/F front wheel arch liner. Should be either 2x7mm screws, or 2xT20 screws and then about 5 mushroom clips. You'll see the washer reservoir and the bump is then visible. (If you have headlight washers, you'll have 2 pumps so to confirm which one is which, just operate the rear washer and feel which one is buzzing - that'll be the one.)

Just remove it, watch out of all the water going everywhere! It's a good time to flush this out - as you do get dirt and grit in there, so just run a few litres of clean water through it to get most of the grit out.

A new pump is only about £20 from a motor-factors. Just don't throw away/damage the seal as chances are you won't get a new one.

Good luck smile

last time i bought one it was only 9€, from the motorfactors - it can probably be had online for less ?

it is where you think / have been told - behind the liner. takes 2 minutes to change, its not even screwed in.

Are you sure that you have water in the bottle ? ... lol - if its buzzing, and the water doesnt come out / its not blocked, that would be a good guess...
