I've got a Megane II Dynamique, it's got the standard Halogen headlamps, but I rather like the look of those with the optional Xenons and they'd be quite nice to have for night driving... Question is, can I just swap the headlamp units around if I were to find a suitable (genuine) set in a scrap yard or on fleabay?

Is it just a simple plug-and-play, so to speak? Are there specific things that need to be brought over with them and do I HAVE to have the automatic headlamp washers?

Any info, greatly appreciated!

If it's not possible or plausible I might just spray them a darker silver/grey like the Xenons surrounds...

In theory, you'll need the following;

- Xenon compatible headlights
- Xenon bulbs (about £80 each)
- The ballast/discharge units behind the headlights
- Headlight washers
- Levelling sensors on N/S/F wishbone and rear beam so you don't blind people
- The UCH will need to be set to "WITH discharge bulbs"

Regarding all the required wiring and mounting points for the levelling sensors and light units themselves already being there, I would be surprised if it's all there waiting to be used.

I've seen cars come in with xenons that have been retro-fitted without headlight washers, levelling sensors and UCH's still set up to "WITHOUT" discharge bulbs and they do work. But it's pretty bodge-tastic tbh.

Thanks, looks like I'll just stick with my halogens then...

Does anyone know whether or not these are sealed units?

My belief is they are bonded together. Quite pricey...I wouldn't go trying to take it apart if you're not entirely sure!
