I have recently purchased an 04 clio 182,

When idling the engine management light comes on, then will go off if I restart and drive the car.

Ive noticed the tickover is slightly lump, I guess the diagnostics will point to a lambda or o2 sensor, how much labour/parts should I anticipate?

Worse case cat I guess?????

Any ideas would be appreciated

All the f4r's idle lumpy thats normal. An intermitant engine light is usually the front lambda sensor, about £70 in parts and 10 mins to fit.

My 133 1.6 Twingo has a lumpy idle so it must be a Renault thing.

The O2/lamda sensor can some times make the engine light come on as pointed out and that's most likely what it is but can a dodgy ECU, spark plugs, coil packs and even a knacked fuel filter.

Does it drive rough or cut out?
When returning to idle do the revs drop to nearly stall and then it blips the throttle?
