Hello all. New to the peugeot site and have a question from a friend.

Does anyone know where to get disks and pads from for a 1981 Peugeot J9 Camper van? apparently he's having a job trying to source them...

Or does anyone know if there is a modern peogeot car that is a straight enough swap...maybe even using modern hatch disks and calipers from a scrappy to be able to get new pads etc easier in the future...

Thanks muchly.

Virgil

Peugeot J9 Camper
- yes we have one of these too. Have been successful on Ebay for parts like discs etc. go on Ebay and type in the description 290357749019
or 140425459027 this should give an idea. The second item number from Ebay germany.
We are having problems with front brakes seizing on and have replaced the master cylinder. When depress the brake pedal front brakes do not release again - back ones fine and it is both sides at the front. When release the bottom bleed screw brake fluid cones through a little (hard to say) but when release the top bleed screw the piston releases and fluid comes through. Any ideas as calipers dont seem seized - have just taken off hoses to check them. You have to reverse pressure bleed these I was told.
Update - yes it was the hoses! I think I will be selling the J9 4 berth camper 22ft (with spare 2.3xd diesel engine) as my two children dont want to sleep in the same bed now - oldest is 12. I may well part with our 1994 Peugeot 504 pick up with demountable camper too - a lot of the parts are interchangeable with J9.
Dean at Peugeotparts has a J7 and pastparts 01284750729 and classic-spares.co.uk also v.helpful. I am new to this forum so hope this topic is still relevent.

Always fancied a J9. Currently own an Estafette pickup,Barkas camper & HY van.
On the Pug front-a 204 for regular use and a 403 pickup for loads.

Glad you got it sorted- my guess was hoses too!

Nothing really to add -other than congrats on good taste!

Dean Hunter www.peugeotparts.co.uk is best in the UK for old Peugeot parts. If he cant help try www.Serie04.com or www.franzose.de I have used both for parts for my classic Peugeot.

Sorry guys, and girls, posted this and then found the answers off forum, sos didn't check back...

Found the parts on brakepartsuperstore...seem OK to me.

Out of interest, is the J9 a purpose built camper, or a factory converted van? I presume the latter...

He's now having issues with adding charging capabilities to it...but that's another story!

Blimey, a J7 you don't see many of those old Peugeot's as they were never sold in the UK.
They finished production in 1981 so I think your going to struggle to find interior stuff. The only place I can suggest is www.serie04.com in France.
