Does anyone on here have one or maybe used to own one?

I've seen a 55reg 2.0 vts with around 40000 miles on the clock. I dont know a huge amount about them, 0-60 in about 8secs, 140mph? What about fuel economy? Is the space/access in the back reasonable for passengers, obviously it's a 3 door.

Would a 5year old citroen give me a few probs in terms of reliability? I dont fancy spending too much time in the garage! Does it have a cambelt/timing belt? what are the service intervals? I cant find too much info googling this so any advice appreciated.

citroen recommend timing belts at 6 years or 75,000 miles. rear leg room is obviously less than a 5 door model. fuel economy isnt great, you'll be lucky to average 30mpg, the 2litre engine is hardly cutting edge. if you think you might want to sell it in the near future don't buy one, not even citroen dealers want them so if you do take the plunge make sure its cheap, i mean really cheap.
Dynamically its no focus, build quality wise its no golf, IMO you'd have to really really want one to buy one.

Same engine as a 206 GTi 180 isn't it? Certainly not a hot hatch, more a small version of a GT Coupe with a peaky engine and a nice interior!

Never driven one before, but I see they're good value as the values are in freefall! I'd definately consider a ByLoeb in red with the white alloys, aslong as it didn't have the 1.6 engine fitted.

I ran a 55 reg Vts over last winter, Including a 2000 mile trip to N Ireland,
It ave 34mpg on that trip. Nice smooth engine with no real lumps in the power delivery. It is let down by the 5speed box which only gives 20mph per 1k revs,This is much the same as the Clio 197 i used to have.
Nice steering and ride Quality and loads of kit as standard inc Climate, Cruise control ,Auto Bi hex headlamps that turn, Auto wiper, Multi Cd.
Plenty of room for the 4 people and luggage we took.
It was never stopped by any of the snow we encountered all last winter and in the end i did 6K miles with no faults.
To be honest for what you can pick them up for, I paid 4k last oct at a auction, if you can afford the high ins group not a bad car at all.
