At low to medium revs while keeping a steady speed my 182 seems to cut power and the exhaust starts popping alot, then the power will come back, then cut again. It does this every now and then but i can't figure out what it is.

It went in for quite an extensive service a few months ago to get the cambelt, sparkplugs and a few other bits done. One of the jobs was the replacement lambda sensors which ive read is the probable cause of these problems so its not that.

Has anyone else experienced this or have any idea what could be the problem?

Popping in the exhaust can be a sign of a small blow, check the exhaust carefully for signs of soot. The extra air can trick the lamda sensor into telling the ecu the mixture is wrong.

Whereabouts would the soot be seen? At the leak or round the tailpipes?

Unfortunatley im not too au fait with the ins and outs of mechanicals, whereabouts is the coilpack located? What does it do? And is it expensive? spin

Thanks smile

going through something similar with my 172 Cup, try: Plugs, HT leads, coil pack, TDC sensor, lamda sensors, air leaks, injectors in that order & hopefully you'll sort it - good luck!
