we have one of the new c3 cars and it has a few annoying features that we could do without - one of which is the seatbelt buzzers/alarms.
we don't have the sales brochure - the dealer has it on order- so we can't see if it is possible to disable them.
does anyone have an idea how to do it if it can be done?
cheers.

theres no way of disabling it in the conventional sense, its all connected to the comm2000 unit which controls indicators, seatbelt warning tones and a few other things, you could always do what we do, plug the seatbelt in and then sit on top of it, or you could find a crashed one, cut the buckle off and just plug that in, or if your not carrying a passenger just plug the passengers belt into the drivers side. but of course if you have a crash and the airbag deploys without your seat belt on your in a world of sh*t................you could always put up with it for a few minutes because it eventually stops beeping!

thanks for the advice in the first reply - i did a little research and figured there was a strong possibility that the sensors for the belts and the air bags might be married - and to disable one might null t'other.
the brochure was 'damaged' - it's on order. apparently. 4 weeks and waiting now...
thanks for the replies, appreciate it.
cheers

My Mrs has just got a new Grand C4 Picasso and it too has the most annoying seatbelt alarm ever heard, it really would make you put the belt on just to shut the damn thing up.

it's the fact that the c3 alarm gets louder and louder the longer you don't buckle up. i hope there is a procedure for turning them off - the 2010 focus has a complicated process to do it*, maybe the citroen has?

  • sit in car, key in ignition, then in 90 seconds, (whilst humming 'rule britannia') buckle and unbuckle 3 times, headlights on then off, buckle and unbuckle 9 times, remove key.something like that.

it will stop eventually, after about 6-7 minutes, however good luck if you have a crash.

I don't know if the C4 gets louder, I only tried it whilst reversing into a space in a car park. Must be able to find the beeper and 'disable' it though...
