Our old 1.6 petrol Focus is getting on a bit and we thought a 'new' car was in-order.

Having looked about for a 4 seater small engine diesel, we came down to either another Focus or the C4....

Having thought about it long and hard we've stumped for a Citroen Select used C4 (57 plate ) with 8k miles on it for 7.9k. We got a fair price for the old Focus...... We're going to keep the car for 3-4 years so not that fussed about residual values.

The car is for the Mrs to drive, she does about 50-60 miles a day

Having never had a Citroen of any kind this is a step into the unknown.

Does anyone have any GOOD Citroen experiences to put my mind at rest smile

We've done 40,000 miles in ours,it's had a few things done but nothing out of the ordinary.I put new rear shocks on to get rid of annoying knock on the back. It's had a wheel bearing on the rear ,but thats most likeley because i had the discs skimmed instead of replaced.Find a good independant and keep away from the stealers(ibought genuine service items for mine for the 1st service and trade they came to £140 without oil!!!
But i really like the car it handles well ,i still manage to overtake more than overtakes me we get 48mpg average and with a gammy leg the cruise control is invaluable.

Thanks, thats good to know. It's a car to keep for a few yeas, hopefully as it's only got 8,000 miles on it should be ok.

Between us we've never had a Citroen or thought about one, but the C4 drove well and was great value.

Its a Citroen select car so it's got a year warrantee. There are a few things to sort before we collect it, like the doors catch the wings when you open them. All C4's we looked at did this.... The internet says its a known fault.....

Thanks for the help !
