Discussion
I am just about to acquire this 205 for £950 - bargain or dunce? comments welcome - There is a DVLA mileage discrepancy which worries me somewhat.

Very difficult to say. No mention of any other mechanical parts. All you can read from that add is that it's a 1.6 with a Mi16 of unknown history. Mismatched exterior trim, mismatched interior trim etc.
What are your plans? You can replace all the suspension and brakes (and pretty much all the other mechanical parts) for a couple of grand tops. If you were to throw some cash and elbow grease at it then it could be made into a very nice example for say, £3.5k including sale price.
Or it could be a complete shed that you'll regret purchasing as soon as you collect it.....
I'll got loads of 205 parts if you need any spares

Sweet baby jesus! I'd be running in the opposite direction of that car for sure.
Bodged engine conversions will bring all heaps of pain, especially when you eventually give up trying to get by with the job that was previously done and try to start again. Complete with a butchered wiring harness. Something that looks in that sort of state doesn't inspire the upmost confidence in the quality of the engine work, or the life the car has lived.
My recommendation would be to get a car that has been converted by a professional (Like mine. It is VERY handy to be able to go back to the guy who put the 16v engine in there and ask him questions), or do the work yourself.
But, get a good one and believe me it'll make you smile .
