Citroen C5 ABS Fault
Discussion
Can anybody help? I have a 2002 C5 which is showing an abs fault. It is showing fault code C1350 Electro Valve Internal. What is this? I have taken off the abs pump/ecu and sent it off to these guys www.ecu-testing.com for testing/repair. They have told me that there is nothing wrong with it, but they would rebuild it for me, but with no guarantees that it will fix the problem.
Has anybody else had this problem? I'm not sure what to do now. Thanks in advance of any help.
Cheers Roy

The thing is I got the car cheap and it is quite beautiful with such a nice ride. I don't believe the petrol version is as expensive to maintain as the diesel and I can get abs pump from the UK for about 70-80 pounds. It seems worth it to me as I do almost all mechanical work myself, have ordered a vag-com beleive I can sort this out cheaply. I think the C5 is an amazingly underrated car...
It appears to be a stuck solenoid valve in the hydraulic block. I've ordered a vag-com cable and will have a go at excercising it to free it up. Otherwise I'll keep trying to get a used one from the U.K. I think a dealer has put new tyres and brake pads on it and then caused the fault. Possibly crud or air in the brake pump.
A long shot chaps, but there is an oddity in the wiring of a RHD Citroen C5. A friend of a mine had an ABS fault (we never read the specific code) but was an easy fix.
Under the carpet in the passenger compartment is a polystyrene floor covering, under this are a few electrical connections (inc the ABS wiring).
This is left over from the conversion of the cars from LHD to RHD, and extends the cables. They are easily damaged, or disturbed by passengers feet, and we simply disconnected them just pulls apart) and put some electrical cleaner in. Worked a treat, and ABS light straight out.
Now this may not be the cause of yours, but C5's have been known to throw up confusing faults, and as it's a no cost, 5 minute job, it's worth a look.
