Hi guys,

Back again with yet another query/problem!

Since i brought the car in December, it has spent more time in the garage than it has with me! I have had to skim the head, replace timing belt and kit, thermostat, heater plugs, fan belt, fuel pump and more. Ever since this was done the car will, roughly every two weeks, flash at me to stop with the temperature gauge shooting straight up to the red. The car's display will show "Engine coolant temperature too high", i took it back to the garage and they have drained the coolant system twice, at my expense, and it still persists. If i I pull over straight away and stop or slow down it will correct itself, but I was wondering if anyone had any ideas what else it could be?

Any help would be appreciated and if i cant resolve it then it shall be going up for sale! frown

Did you think it'd be a reliable car being French?

I can't offer any help but do some research before buying your next car!

Correct itself as in the temp guage dropping straight back down again or the fan kicking in and cooling it down over a period of time?

If it is the first one then I would have a guess that whatever tempature sensor is giving you that reading is faulty...or atleast the thing reading that sensor is or the wiring in-between.

If its the second then...no wonder the garage is confused!

Hey guys,

Well ive had renaults in the past and my partners has had plenty of peugeots. I did do research even doing an AA check etc, but its one of those things unfortunatly.

The guage will drop back down and all be be normal again. I will get the garage to check the temperature sensor when i go in today. Thank you for the reply.

Well, i still havent found the cause to the first problem, but it has now decided to develop another diesel leak after the last one was fixed last week! So its off to the vauxhall garage to trade her in under their swappage scheme!
