I'm looking at getting a second set of alloys for my ph2 Clio 172 and get them fitted with winter tires. Having looked around, one reasonably priced set were available but were 205/45 not 195/45 as is standard in my car. Is it possible to fit these without trouble with no other work. Or will the extra 10mm be too much and not fit correctly.

Unfortunately, secondhand Renault alloys aren't as freely available as I fondly imagined, and I'm struggling to find the correct size! Any input greatly appreciated as always...

i ran 205's on my 172 without any changes being made. the only thing i noticed was the handling wasnt as sharp.

Cheers for that. I think the issue will be insurance... They want foolish money for this 'performance mod'.

Obviously the idea that it would enable me to use winter tires in winter (safer surely) is to be discouraged...

why is it a performance mod?? it makes the handling worse not better!!

i didnt think to tell them when i changed, wouldnt bother if i did the same again. seems a bit petty.
