2000 Laguna brake problems.

Wondering if anyone can help on this, hope it's a common fault that someone will know all about.
Not long had the car, bit of a free winter run around, so know little of the history.
Anyway, I have had the disks and pads replaced and now I'm sure the right front is binding.
Sometimes it's fine, other times it's gets very hot and smells of burning brakes. I have had a friend look at it but he said everything was free and moving fine.
Then, today it started playing up so I took it to see him. Jackets it up and, as ever, free. He agreed there is a smell and it's etting hot, but we are stuck.
Any suggestions, don't want to spend much cash on it if I can help it.
