Clio Electrical gremlins

I have 02 plate 172 & recenly it has occasionally not been starting. More often when it is frosty like yesterday morning. When i came home from work, one tail light was on, as were the dash board lights. Next day, it started fine. WTF is going on? Any ideas?

My old 172 Cup did'nt like the cold. Would often 'kill' the dash for a second after driving off on a cold morning - dash lights and dials would switch off then come back on again, but car would keep running fine. Also shortly before I sold it did not start on the first attempt a few times - turn key and literally nothing, starter motor did not turn. Fortunately it always started after leaving for a few seconds and trying again.

I'm pretty sure this was a battery/alternator issue as I did tend to use the car for a few short trips in the week - perhaps battery was struggling to maintain charge. Replaced battery after it being diagnosed as duff by Kwikfit, seemed to fix it for a while but eventually did the same thing following winter.

Never had random lights coming on though. Sounds like something has got wet/shorted out somehow on your car.
