Hi, doing a favour for an old neighbour. Regretting it already!
The AA say the fuel pump has failed, wont start, but has sparks. They then left, I assume home start doesn't cover this.
They asked me to have a look. I whip off air cleaner. No fuel pumps into carb on open throttle, maybe fuel cut off switch doesn't allow this anyway. Look for fuse for pump, there doesn't appear to be one, yet it seems to be an electric pump on top of tank.

So Clio experts, it's a '93 1.4 by the way. Is there a fuse hidden away some where, it says no14, 20amp in book but the space is blank! If it is the pump how do you get it off, just unscrew it like a large container?

thanks in advance, Z

Should be single point injection this, not carb.

The cause of the problem could be the connection to the flywheel sensor, which is on the top of the bellhousing secured by two screws/bolts.

Just disconnect and reconnect the electrical connection, then try to start it.

ah ha, that makes sense, the injector looked like the accelerator pump housing on another carb I know, but it is plastic. Will clean up the sensor with some contact cleaner. Cheers buddy.

But if anyone knows where the fuse is or how to remove pump, I'd still be grateful
