Hi guys

Am interested in a 2004 Clio 182 I have been offered - its a 2004 '54' Reg with circa 32k on the clock. Has old MOT's to confirm mileage.

It seems the service book has been lost, but the owner claims it was stamped up. IS there any way this can be checked through Renault does anyone know? I know BMW offer a phone service to check history - wondered if Renault offered a similar service?

Thanks in advance

If the car has remained local since new, you can phone/visit the Renault dealers & ask but they may not be able to give out full details just when it was done, or phone the last place in the service book and ask them.

Renault UK do not keep a database of car servicing, so a dealer will not be abe to tell you what history a car has had in the past, unless it is at their particular site. However, they do log warranty claims, and which dealer did the warranty work. It would stand to reason a customer may use the same dealer for servicing and warranty work, so bob's your uncle if its had a claim.

Alternatively, check the number plates for a dealer name, look at past MOTs for a dealer stamp or ven contact the previous registered keeper.
