Can anybody help me, I have a Peugeot 307 sw hdi 2006 which up to now has run without problems, today i tried to start it and it won't start, it won't even turn over, the electrics seem to be working but the engine is doing nothing, could this be due to the extreme cold weather? any other ideas?
thank you
thank you
Hi,
Depending on how cold it is where you are, the diesel in your fuel lines might have started to get waxy. Does the engine turn over? If not then there might not be enough juice in the battery for the starter motor - get a jump start. If it's turning over but not starting then could be one of many things, such as diesel starting to wax or glow plugs not doing their job properly (try letting them cycle through several times).
I'm not a mechanic but they're the first things i'd check.

The lights are not dimming, the windscreen wipers are working at normal speed BUT when turning the key the sound is like a machine gun sound.
sounds like Starter motor. Put the car in gear......and rock it (by pushing)..........whilst it is in gear.If you are missing some teeth hopefully that'll move it and it'll fire up.......
