307 heater blower

Worked Ok this morning, car was parked for 1/2 hour, now heater blower not working.
Fuse has been checked, anyone any ideas?

Thanks for that, I have been looking at a few other forums and thought maybe the resister might be the problem.
Actually its my daughters car so I was trying to diagnose the fault over the phone, but anyway yesterday afternoon whilst she was driving it started working again.
Interesting that you say its INSIDE the inlet trunking, so it is exposed to all the ice and snow that's been sucked in there?
If thats the case I wonder whether an occasional dose of WD40 sprayed into the inlet whilst the fan is running might not go amiss, what do you think?

Evening Sir,

Quite a common fault with the 307 Heaters, before you replace the resistor check the loom that plugs into it. the black wire tends to tarnish and corrode within the connector, causing firstly one or 2 of the speeds not to work, then nothing works.

Its fiddly as f*@k to get out but can be done, and main dealers charge a fortune to sort it so best do it yourself!!

On the dash there is the recycle air button above the heater controls, push this on ( it lights up ), this opens the flap inside the ducting.

Remove the trim at the side of the drivers footwell ( runs up towards the gearstick ) and get yourself down on the floor! reaching up behind the dash, you will see the ducting thats opened ( Push the button on and off, helps to guide you till you find it! ) then switch the car off again. the flap will stay open.

The resistor is up in there, it is held by 2 clips, don't try and remove it from the clips, they are soldered to the resistor and you will just end up snapping it off. Reach up a little further, you will find where the resistor holder is located within the housing, turn through 90 degrees and it will pop down. Pull down the holder further now that its unclipped and you will be able to unclip the connector and take it from there, if your handy at all with crimps, wires, solering iron then well within your capabilities!
