Hi all,

The GF is currently looking to purchase our first Renault which will be the Megane II coupe cab. Got a budget of around 8k and I've looked at a good few already.

I am confused about the service interval/schedule on these models - hope someone can shed some light!

Did a Google search on the service interval and I think WhatCar site said the petrol version is 18k/2yr and diesel is 9k/1yr. Had a look at a Megane 1.9dci (05 55) and studied the service booklet which had been stamped at more or less every 9k. Fine.

Yesterday I had a look at another Megane 1.9dci (06 55) - This car had a different service book from the previous with different service intervals. This had oil service, minor service and major service. This had Minor/major service at 12k with oil service between at 6k intervals. So that's the confusion!!

My 3 Q's....

1) This car had the book stamped for the minor serivce's but not the oil service between - how much of a factor is this for consideration??

2) What is the correct service schedule for the model/engine?

3?Also how do i tell the difference between the 120 and 130Bhp variants?

Many thanks in advance!
Chris

Personally i wouldn't take much notice of the service interval's that most manufacturers give out, (minor serv at 6k and major at 12k is ideal) my Citroen C2 interval's are 20k/2yrs i do it every 6 and 12k
the way you can tell the difference between the 120hp and 130hp is it's either says on a sticker inside the drvrs door, inside the glovebox or just check the V5 for the emissions info the 120 should be 146 co the 130 is 154 hth
