Hello all,

The water temperature of my 205's Xsara VTS/GTi6 engine has been going through the roof and the fan doesn't always come on to cool it back down. Is this usually just a dead sensor?

Can someone please tell me where to locate it as I don't really know my way around my new engine.

Thanks.

The fan loom / temp sensor won't have changed.

Water temp sensor is located in the radiator, it is the only electrical thing plugged into it.
Looking into the engine bay on, look down on the right handside and you'll see it.
It connects to the fan relay and then the fan with the +v coming from the shunt box.
It's a loom you can remove independently of the car and test if needs be.
You can also test if the fan is working by bridging the connections on the mysterious looking plug that normally re3sides behind the LH headlamp.

There are hundreds of threads on 205gtidrivers about this.

Thanks for that. For some reason I always post on Pistonheads first!
