Im looking to lower my 205 as it doesnt look quite right at the moment. I know ill need springs for the front and then to lower the bar at the back. Does anyone have a good guide for lowering the rear? How low should i go at the front? Also is it possible to get wheel spacers to bring the rear wheels out a bit to fill the arches?

30mm all round is about the most you want to go an a road car. Any more and you'll ruin the handling.
You shouldn't need spacers.

£425? fk me. For reference I sold a rebuilt rear beam, admittedly not as pretty as that and couldn't prove it'd been rebuilt for £100. Even with proof I'd expect a maximum of £200.

That's a lot of money in paint.

bully for you !!!!!!!!!!

genuine peugeot bearing and seal kit is at least £80. trailing arm shafts are at least £80 each, and the rubber mounts are £75

i've not had any complaints off people who have already bought from me

£425 isn't too badly priced,
I paid £300 for my own beam to be rebuilt by someone else, that included shafts, bearings seals etc...6 years ago.

I'm sure you haven't, I never said it wasn't going to be any good. It's just awfully expensive IMO. Even if you need all those parts, and as far as I understand you don't always need to replace both shafts (I'll admit I may be wrong on that) you're only looking at £250 in parts. That's £200 in labour and paint which would go an awful long way to improving a 205 in other areas.

i know what you mean, im assuming its the 1.6.
i had one a while back and thought about doing something to bring the wheels out a bit, they do seem to sit in the arches just a tad compared to the front.
a 309 beam i beleive is actualy a bit wider than the 205 and many people seem to go down this route.
seems fair enough as you could buy a recondition/built beam and have the satisfaction of having near new spec parts rather than just fitting a set of spacers and possibly not knowing the condition of the beam etc on a possibly 20 year old car.

also i lowered mine 20 mil at the front with uprated dampers and lowering spring but i didnt touch the rear as it handled incredibly well on that set up so didnt see the point.

hope this is of some help and made sence.

I've got some spare front lowering springs if you are interested - should lower it by around 30mm, painted black by me!!
