205 GTi 1.9 23k miles valuation

I could build one from scratch for £4k. I don't see what attraction there is to mileage - it should all be on condition.

I just cannot get my head round a 205 being worth 6 grand. 4 grand if absolutely mint and rebuilt but no more than that if it's not a T16

Even with mileage that low i'd say it's not even worth £4k tbh - main reason being that it seems to have little in the way of history, paperwork, etc to back up the mileage.

I saw it and my immediate thought was "4000 is more realistic", but then im sure there are people out there that would pay a 6k for a car like that. They are becoming classics now as everyone knows.

No they're not. There are far, far too many in circulation and parts are too cheap and easy to get hold of.
