My 57 plate 30,000 mile 307 1.6 s keeps blowing headlamp bulbs.
Peugeot say there is nothing wrong with it....mmmtry telling that to the family on the way home in the dark and headlights suddenly blow....
Anybody else have this problem?

I've been using Bosch bulbs and not touching the glass. However, I havent been changing them in pairs as at £12 I thought that was pretty lumpy! The car is going in for a service next week so will see if Peugeot come up with anything useful.......we live in hope!
Next time one goes I'll change both at the same time.
Thanks for the help James

Could be a problem with the alternator, maybe the regulator. Noticed if your wipers have been going faster than normal?? It'd probably cook your battery if it's been happening for a while mind.

A few years ago I had the misfortune to have 306's as a company car, all three of them blew headlamp bulbs often, admit I was doing 50,000 a year but not good.
Solved the problem myself by fitting relays under the bonnet. I think the wiring on the small Peugeots is a bit lacking and you get current surges which blow the bulbs, thats why the relays cured the problem.
Interestingly my wife and I have had 5 406's and 2 407's between us and not had this problem.
That probably is too many Peugeots, my other cars a 450 Chim driving

Another Chimaera owner!
I spoke to dealer we bought the car from this morning and suggested fitting relays to the 307. Thought it was a long shot, BUT he said he would speak to the technicians and look to fit them with no charge! We'll see....in the mean time I'll just keep using the Chim.
Thanks for the advice James
