Evening all, has anyone ever had their coolant light flicker under progressive or full load acceleration? I pulled over straight away to check and she's fine, no leaks and plenty of coolant in the tank. This is the first time i've ever heard of this but thought it better to check that it's not something more serious than french wiring or a faulty sensor.

It's just ticked over 2K since the rebuild and i've had no issues with heating/cooling other than the light flickering today before or after the rebuild.

Any ideas or past experiences?

Cheers

Clean the coolant sensor - it builds up with loads of gunk. You'll need to 'swish; it around in a bucket of water and then flush it through.
If it persists check the wiring.

I am fairly sure the 205 gti does not have a coolant level warning lamp?

Is it the coolant high temperature warning lamp you meant? Is the gauge also in the red?

Hi. No, the temp gauge is fine, it's the low level warning lamp inbetween the speedo and rev counter.

It's below the Low Battery warning lamp, definatly there.

Gonna give her a wash out tomorrow so hopefully no more worrying lights whilst opening her up.

Yes sorry you are correct. That's the one lamp I have never seen light up.

My 205 does the same, cleaned the sensor (and changed the engine) and it still does it. Just ignore it.
