As title, a friend has the above and has just been informed by his local garage it requires a new power steering pump, I don't know exact details but the garage have told him the pump has gone and has also broken/damaged something to do with the steering rack, this leaving him with a repair bill of a tenner shy of £1k !! I said to just get an exchange pump but his local garage also informed him they don't do those anymore as people were having problems with the exchange parts becoming faulty, I have my doubts the garage is being above board as they charged him £9 per litre for oil to go in his Nissan Cubistar van!

Personally if they haven't stripped it and it is driveable what harm will it do to get a second opinion, on the oil front fully sinthetic oils aren't cheap so just find out what oil it takes and maybe buy a 4ltr container as bulk buying is cheaper, then get that container refilled as you won't have to pay for another container. Also oil out the bulk tank that the garage use is alot cheaper than those little 1 litre things. Hope all that makes sence, if not I'm blaming the iPhone lol
