Need a little help from the PH Frenchies, especially the Clio owning ones.

The g/f has a 98 Mk2 Clio and it's great little car. Unfortunately from time when it's sitting in heavy rain it has been known to accumulate little puddles in the footwells for no apparent reason.

Is this a common fault on Clios? Door seals perhaps? I've check water drains and they seem clear enough.

Just for information, on a 98 your girlfriend most likely has a Mk 1 Phase 3 Clio, same shape as the Williams but with the rounder front lights.

Anyway my Mk 1 Clio leaked from the interior light, which I thought was either the sunroof or the aerial. Never tracked it down but with old cars it's almost always the sunroof isn't it.

Has anyone solved the leaky sunroof problem, my wife's Clio has recently developed a leak from around the sunroof, I assume it's the seal where it's fitted to the roof rather than the glass seal.

I did two things.

First stripped the headlining out around the sunroof and sealed up the drain tubes that run down the A-Pillars, they were leaking where they fitted onto the sunroof. Also, make sure these tubes are clear, I threaded some wire down to make sure they weren't full of crap.

Secondly, the plastic surround of the sunroof had "popped" out of the roof of our to some extent, there was a 3-5mm gap around the front edge. Got some black sealent from B&Q and gunned it all around so it was proplerly sealed up there too. Give that ago and see what happens.

OK, I'll try that first, I have downloaded instructions from a sunroof company but it entails taking the sunroof out completely.
