Im looking at buying a 307 on a 51 plate. it looks in pretty good nick body is immaculate. Iv not been able to find out what service history it has, as I could only look at the forcourt quickly before my work today. But I was just wondering if it should be ok. Its the 1.6 engine and the guy is asking for 1990 and is offering a 30 day warranty. I know some friends who own 206's and they are rattely things especialy the ones with anywhere near high mileage on it. The 307 does seem alot better put together though. But I have no real experiance with and french cars.

Check for engine oil leaks from the head gasket, make sure the air bag light works and goes off and the horn and indicators work as they should, the coms 2000 unit has a tendacy to fail, both easy ish fixes but the parts are dear esp the latter. Also check where the vin number is on the windscreen is dry, if it has condensation there walk away, electrical nightmares waiting to develope.

I had a 307 with 100k on the clock. Worst car i ever owned...Electrical problems every day basically. I'd much rather have a 306 of some description over the 307.
