What does it do?

Got a Renault Megane as a hire car for a couple of days.

On the end of the indicator stalk, there is a button marked "Auto"

What is it for?

It turns the auto light on and off, i think you hold it for a few seconds with the engine running to turn them on and hold it again with engine off to turn them off, well it's something along those lines. Once turned on or off it'll will say so in the trip computer screen for a few seconds.
