Yep.

Its a pretty common conversion now, what do you want to know?

Yes you can use the 205 gearbox but need a mi16 flywheel.

You will need a different top engine mount depending on what year the engine is, mine uses a 306 xsi mount.

The lower engine mount (forked one) will need extending in order for the master cylinder and servo to clear the cam cover, usually 25-30mm is enough.

The exhaust downpipe flange will need cutting and rewelding at an angle to clear the bulkhead but you can use a 205 downpipe.

If you do use a 205 downpipe make sure it is the cheaper pattern type without the internal splitter.

Easiest intercooler to use is a 2wd cossie cooler (thinner than 4wd) this will fit in the grille (just) and you can use 2 90 deg bends at each end to meet the existing boost pipes and throttle body.

Wiring can be a bugger, plus you need a mod to the tacho circuit to make the tach work and a speed sensor (in top of gearbox) from a different car (can't remeber which one off the top of my head) to make the speedo read correctly.

Oh and the wiring can be a bugger.

Thats most things I think.

(Oh and did I mention the wiring can be a bugger)

This is what they go like with the boost tweaked a bit.

No, 8v. They never made a 16v turbo in the 406.

The flywheel off the turbo engine wont fit inside the bell housing of a 205 gearbox. And as Dave said the only turbo engine in the 406 was 8v, the 16v turbo was found in the 405 t16

I've got most of the 406 Turbo loom and all of the engine, gear box, mounts ancilleries etc... sat in one of my garages if you need any bits, I want rid of it.

All the 406 Sri's are turbo.....

Do you want a 16v engine or a turbo engine?

There really is no "best way to go".

Jesus Carl you must warn people when you put pics like that up.

I must have seen the photos of your car 100 times but every bloody time a bit of sex wee comes out nevertheless.

One day my 205 might be half as nice as that!!!
