My 106 flashed its handbrake light at me which means that brake fluid was low, does this also mean that the brake lights would fail to work and cause a similar flashing before they finally died?

I've changed the brake light switch, fuse and cluster and they still wont come on (the brake lights that is the indicators and rear/fog work), the boot light also works. I haven't touched the fluids yet.

It doesn't say that you have tried new bulbs.

Low brake fluid wont cause your brake lights not to come on, they are operated by a simple plunger switch behind the pedal.

If you have changed the switch maybe the new one you fitted is no good, or maybe a short circuit in the wiring. I cant remember if the brake lights have a dedicated fuse in the fuse box, i'm thinking that they do. If so you should try changing that

Stand in puddle of water, put u'r finger in the bulb socket and a get a friend to push the brake pedal down for you.

... If it hurts then you have power going to the lamps lol
