Clio 172 - Grinding/ rattle on tight left turns under power!
Discussion
Well, just got my bargain 172 home and taken up 7 floors of the multistorey.
On tight left hand turns, under power, with the window down, there is a definite 'noise'...
Sounds almost like a rubbing/ rattling/ slight grinding...
Is that likely to be a driveshaft, or sould something be rubbing? Anything else wear? Wheel bearing?
Any thoughts?
I am already starting my list of things to do! LOL!

Have you checked that it does it (or not) on tight right turns too? Is it a 172 or a 172 Cup?
The front suspension on my 172 Cup makes a slight grinding/squeaking noise on full lock (on power and off) - its a common 'feature' of 172 Cups' Its a nut catching somewhere IIRC and not serious. Renault did offer a fix where they ground down the offending area. I don't think the normal 172 suffers from this though as the front suspension is different.

I haven't noticed it on right turns, but I guess I will find out tomorrow!
Do the diffs wear or the driveshafts, parictularly?
I guess if it was one of those, it would happen on both locks. If it is catching somewhere, then it could just be a nut/ bolt somewhere.
New tyres on Thursday, so may have a look while the wheels are off!
