I'm not advertising my as it's not for sale anywhere but I might be selling it soon.
The thing is, prices for 205's seem to all over the place, some saying it's old and not worth much other that it's a classic. so how much are they worth.

Mines a 1991 1.6, red, the usual worn drivers seat which might be replaced or fixed soon, 127k but in very good condition, resprayed front bumber, re-furbed wheels.
manual everything and sliding sunroof.

at a rough guess should I be expecting closer to 7 or 8 hundred or in the thousands?

I paid 1500 for it nearly five years ago, there's also a picture of it on my profile.

I reckon you're not far off with those figures.

1.6 really doesnt command the same premium as the 1.9's. If it has had the rear beam refurbed (with proof) and the bodywork isnt too bad then roughly a grand would be about right. As long as it has at least 6 months MOT and doesnt have any major issues (ie rear beam again) then you should definatelty get above £700. Obviously it depends how many people view your car as its only really worth what others are willing to pay. seats shouldnt be to much of an issue as they are all worn for that price but obviously the better they are the more sellable your car will be. you can get a pair of half decent fronts for about £40 though so could be worth changing.

Your right, prices are all over the place at the moment. Mostly because we are in a recession.

Before the credit crunch, 205 prices were certainly on the up.

Oh and i'd suggest its probably worth around the 1k mark if its got some decent history, mot, and tax.

well it's just passed it's mot, I bought a years tax last week and it got a full history with service stamps every 6k and reciepts for pretty much everything that's been done/bought for it.

Hasn't had the rear beam refurbed but then I don't know if there's anything wrong with it.
